Beautiful scenery driving today through the Fitzgerald National park area. The roads were like riding a roller coaster and the roads quite narrow. This area is desperate for rain, but it absolutely poured last night so the local farmers should be happy. We are at a rest stop for the night about 30kms from Jerramungup which is 259kms from Denmark which is reported to be a very pretty town in a lovely setting of national park all around. and where we will see the tree sky Walk and the Ancient trees forest.
Poured again last night and this morning, water everywhere, so we decided to leave before the area was flooded and we couldn;t get out. On the way to Denmark there were more hills like you wouldn't believe and so here we are at the ocean Beach Caravan Park, nowhere near an ocean beach mindyou, just near a sleepy inlet. We have booked for three days.
Oh Dear. just spent the last hour typing up our trip today and "Bingo" Its gone. " Not happy Jan!!!" So now here is a shortened version. It has rained every night, but the days have been dry. Weather cool, but not cold. Denmark is pretty, but i wouldn't like to live here, much too hilly.
We went to Valley of the Giants Sky Walk today. 40 metres at its highest point and sways as you walk along it. I couldn't wait to get off. It's one way traffic only so I just walked - didn't look up, didn't look down, just looked straight ahead a prayed for the end.
Ancient world was another story. Very beautiful and very big trees, some over 400 years old. The photos tell it all. More photos to come after I download the ones Ross took.
We leave tomorrow
