Day 47 – 50 Phuket

Boat and bus journey to Phuket was fairly smooth and we found our second choice accommodation pretty easily too… On On Hotel… yes the place where Leo stayed from the film. Accidentally got pissed midday in a little cafe, which was eventful but this didn’t stop us from trekking around town (I got my beard trimmed badly) and then on a 5k mission to a Central Shopping Mall. We had planned on researching into a net book/notepad but ended up seeing Avator for just 120 baht – £2.40 – Awesome film + strangely you have to stand to the national anthem before the film and watch a slide show about the King, they love this dude over here. The walk back was another mission and took even longer.

Day 48

Emma is still getting bitten loads but I’m not – ha ha! Went to Karon beach, it’s a stunning beach but far too many sun loungers and parasols for our liking. Really really hot day and came back just a little pinky. Bus ride back was eventful as I had to hand off the back for most of it. The evening was spent in our new found favourite restaurant watching the footy Liv vs Ports, Pompey won 2-0 (chin up Andy)!

Day 49

A bit of internet action in the morning and then onto Kata beach on a hired scooter. We also visited Patong, which lives up to its description of Bangkok by the sea.

Day 50

We still had the scooter, so we tried to hunt down our notebook again. After much researching, we have ended up purchasing the notebook from the first shop we had visited… typical! We also booked our tickets for Ko Phangan, so early start tomorrow.
