Day 42 Krabi- KO Lanta
Slept quite well despite the massive domestic along our corridor at four in the morning- not nice! Mini bus picked us up and we drove to a strange office in the middle of no where. Sat there for an hour, god knows why. So i asked and they said there had been a delay, but they wouldn't tell us why. They were laughing at first until they realized we were all pretty pissed off, and eventually let us go, very weird!
After two small ferry crossings we arrived in Ko Lanta at The New Coconut Bungalows. Nice place again, and we have a nice little bungalow. The beach is a bit rocky when the tide is out but otherwise beautiful. Really nice and quiet here which is a good change! The music playing at the bar, we have named it Katie's cheesy car music!! The sea is nice and lying in it is like being in your own infinity pool. Went for a walk along the beach and had dinner back at ours, awesome sunset. Played cards and Rog keeps beating me-surprise!! I think he cheated. Had an amazing pancake with chocolate and banana in-yum yum!!
Day 43
Our earliest start yet, without waiting for some kind of transport. Our beach came to a dead end after 20 minutes of walking, but fortunately for us, we managed to get a Tuk- Tuk to a really nice beach called Phra Ae (Long beach), the sea was amazing and we had really nice food in one of the beach cafes. Roger had too much of the sun, so we headed back to our bungalow by Tuk-Tuk again.
Our Tuk-Tuk driver had told us the beaches on the south of the island were much nicer, so we decided to stay one more night. We spent the evening just chilling out, and another beautiful sunset. Later on there was a massive Thunder storm, and the Lightning was incredible out at sea! We ate lots because it was so cheap!! We booked tickets to Ko Phi Phi.
Day 44
We drove a moped for the first time today, which was a bit nerve wracking to begin with. Rog drove as I couldn’t even get the thing going. We both looked like nerds as we wore helmets, some how Rog managed to pull it off, I didn’t.
We headed down to the south of the island for the day; however, we got lost on the way, and ended up on the wrong side of the mountain. Heading back and asking for directions, we eventually were on the right track and found Katrong Bay. It was quite nice but really rocky again, although the sand was nice. On the way back I bought some sun glasses, and Rog got his haircut by a man who looked like he was just about to do surgery. We spent the evening relaxing again, so nice and quiet here.
