Ellie slept in this morning so I took a short walk over to Osbaldwick, a village not too far from Ellie’s place. On the way back I picked up a pork pie and a cream filled donut for breakfast (I am going to miss my savory and sweet breakfasts). When Ellie was ready we walked over to the university campus and fed the various waterfowl. We saw the famous Tallboy duck. Apparently he is a crossbreed of two different ducks and is very unique looking. After walking around the campus a bit more we headed toward the climbing gym Ellie has been going to on Saturdays and met up with her friends. On the way there we stopped by a cool Victorian church that also had an old tower on its grounds that dated back to the Norman times (1000 or so years ago!). Ellie has been raving about the pizza the gym serves so we had that for lunch. It was quite good. After the gym we went into town (which was crowded) and went to the Yorkshire museum. It tells the history of the area from the prehistoric to the medieval times. It had some interesting things in there and we stayed about two hours. We then got some Ice cream and walked over to Bootham Crescent, the old dilapidated ground of York City FC. I was hoping to see a bit more of what it looked like inside, but it was all fenced up. It was getting late so we took the long walk back to Ellie’s place to rest up before my last dinner in York for this trip. For dinner Ellie and walked over to Osbaldwick and ate the local pup, the Derwent Arms. I had a steak and mushroom pie and Ellie had a burger. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding. On the way back we stopped to pet a very friendly cat. The night ended playing VR video games with Ellie’s roommates. Tomorrow I am off to London early and home.
