The flights to Boston and London were quite easy. Both on time and comfortable. The flight to London was not full so I had a whole row to myself. Landed at Heathrow and breezed through security. I did not check any baggage so that made it easy. I caught the Tube to Kings Cross station and got some food while I waited for my train. I walked over to St. Pancreas station to check out the interior because I had time. The train north was crowded, but the scenery was cool. I ended up in a window seat surrounded by a family of 7 and their dog for most of the trip and for the last 1/2 hour by a group of 7 women on a “hen do” (bachelorette party) on their way to York. They were loud, but funny. I arrived in York about 12:30 and Ellie met me at the station. We took a bus back to her flat and I got settled in one of the roommates rooms that is unoccupied. The goal for the first day was to walk the York walls and have a traditional English roast at a pub. Both goals were met. It was a beautiful day so the walk around the walls was nice. The roast was excellent and I had a really nice beer with it and Ellie had a cider. It is nice to have a tour guide. We ordered some Jamaican take out for dinner and settled in for the night. I am tired.
