Finished first stage with roof extension and carport. Caravan is now on blocks and the building continues. Weather is still a bit humid but the nights are cool and the beer is cold.

One week down and definitely no regrets. Cyclones turned out to be a non event but we have had the humid weather without rain. Excitement next door to us with a sunbird hatching a chick.(see photos) Started building the new home but a long way to go. All our goods arrived safely and are in storage for a while in Kuranda. We arrived here yesterday just after afairly quick trip. No internet coverage for the last three days so a bit to catch up on. Our route skirted the eastern edge of the drought area and some places near Emerald were lush and green. Have never seen kangaroos so lean with many dead along the road. Arrived this afternoon after 2 nights at Rollimgstone. Picked up fruit on the way in and got back into our usual spot. Forcast minimum of 14 degrees so will have to pack all the winter woolies. Off to Cairns tomorrow to stock up and chill out.

Finally we are heading south on Saturday. The weather has been quite humid for the last week with small storms every day but not much rain. Had a visit from Kate early this month and even arranged a "frog" experience for her. While Kate was here we visited the other Kate and her family. The pavlova was part of the celebration.
