A day of doing nothing. Spent the afternoon at the pool talking to some people from Maroochydor on their way to SA. The photo shows how you have a caravan park with no grass. The whole 100 sites are on top of about 60cm of mine waste. Two small pieces of grass near the camp kitchen are overrun with grey kangaroos all night. Still highly recommend this to anyone. Tomorrow off to Roma or points north depending on how we feel.

On the road by 8.00am and had a cuppa in Dubbo. A pair of grey wrinkllies came over for a chat and we found they were from Mareeba down south for a holiday. Two more new friends! Lunch at Gulargambone and the countryside had been remarkably green for the time of the year. From here on the drought is very evident with everything very brown. Finally finished cleaning out the house and left about 9,00. Normal pit stop in Jerilderie where Denny disproved a family myth that black swans attack blondes, This lonely swan was quite friendly and enjoyed anzac biscuits. First day on the road. Enjoying a glass of wine while looking across the lagoon into the centre of Forbes. Raining when we left this morning but had sunshine from the Murray. Off to Moree tomorrow.

On the road home. Last night at Roma and tonight at Moree. Already had a swim in the hot spa pools and will dip again before bed. Roads are a bit better this way and made good time today. Not as many stops for roadworks as in Qld. Forbes tomorrow and home on Friday.
