Left Charters Towers this morning after another very good happy hours last night. Travelled via Townsville (outskirts) and on to Cardwell. This is where cyclone yasi did all the damage and the town still looks messy with a lot of houses still without roofs. The trees are all shredded and snapped off. Travelled from Capella via Clermont and Belyando Crossing to Charters Towers. Saw heaps of humpy backed cattle in great condition. Little flood damage except on the roads which vary from terrific to terrible sometimes within 1 km. Stopped for fuel ($1.75 litre) at Belyando Crossing. Just a bush servo with a rest area but as you can see from the picture Denny found some friends. Settled into van park in Charters Towers and are off to happy hour at 5.00pm followed...
