Day 135, 16 November 2012, Chelmsford. Having (eventually) done everything on our to do list yesterday, today we walked to the town centre via Admirals Park at the edge of Chelmsford. Very gray, cold, misty day and even the ducks looked a bit chilled as they paddled about aimlessly. We explored the local Chelmsford Market and felt the first pings of Christmassy-ness when we saw wreaths with holly and berries. It was getting dark by 3 pm due to the low clouds so we headed home and watched a movie called The Magic of Belle Isle. We'd noticed Morgan Freeman was in it, and we've never seen him make a bad movie. Enjoyed the movie but became very sad when our friends mentioned he'd died recently. 99% of the news of the world is depressing and irrelevant to our daily existence, and so we avoid it. But the loss of such a luminescent actor is truly tragic and sad-making. Of course, being keen not to look like a complete duffer, I just googled Morgan Freeman and have discovered that rumours of his demise were somewhat exaggerated and he is in fact alive and kicking and having quite a laugh at this insistent rumour that's been running around the world for a couple of months now. Yay!!!!! Finally some good news doing the rounds.
