Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
After packing up camp we headed north to Ubirr where there is a rock art gallery. We arrived 20 minutes before a ranger guided tour was about to start so we waited around for this. It didn't end up being a very good tour due to the large number of people trying to keep up and hear everything. It was also VERY slow to move around so we ended up leaving the group and continuing ourselves. The art was interesting and so were some of the stories behind them. There was also a lookout on this circuit which gave great views of the surrounding area.
The plan today was to look at the Ubirr Rock Art Gallery before an afternoon on the jumping crocodile cruise and then setting up camp in Darwin. Unfortunately we roughly estimated the time and distance and got it wrong which meant we missed out on the last crocodile cruise of the day by about 15min. I think it turned out for the best in the end but was annoying at the time. We camped 15 minutes away from the cruises at Corroboree Tavern which was a really nice place. It was cheap, grassy, shady, had a pool as well as animals. They had an albino buffalo, a saltwater crocodile, freshwater crocodile and pigs. So we spent the afternoon swimming, looking at the animals and having a drink at the bar.
