Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
After another fairly big drive and the boys still being good on the drives, I was very happy to stop at Bitter Springs for a swim. Only 48 hours ago it was too cold to swim where we were but after heading north a swim is very appealing. The water was tepid which was perfect with the warmer
outside temperatures. With our floaties we drifted downstream with the current. The water is too
deep to stand in but is crystal clear and is surrounded by palm trees and paperbarks creating beautiful scenery. Once you reach the bridge everyone climbs out and it is a short walk back to the start before you go again. Liam was so relaxed floating around he could have fallen asleep.
Getting to late afternoon, we went to the Mataranka thermal pools which were nice enough but
Bitter Springs was far better. The thermal pools had more man made structures and there was a strong smell from the water.
A short drive to our camp in Elsey National Park where at night you can hear wild donkeys, cows
and dingoes.
