This morning we started at Mesa Verde National Park which has incredible ancient villages built into the cliffs.
Next a little backtracking so we can do the terrifying drive from Silverton to Ouray. Naturally Jim can't wait and I am freaking out. The road is very high and has no barriers and in places is just a sheer drop. It turned out to be very nice in a scary kind of way. The old silver mining towns on the way were great and I read that back when the mining was still happening none of the workers were allowed to drink alcohol because of the effect the high altitude had.
Now we are in Utah and tried to stay in Moab so we could go to Arches tomorrow but found they had a car and motorbike rally in town so everywhere was booked. We saw some fantastic cars on our way through and now to add to my list of pointless wants I want a Mustang Notchback which will be a nice addition to my Highland cow and bison I think.
