We've spent the last couple of days along the Columbia River Gorge. Lots of lovely waterfalls and Mt Hood in the background.
Spent a few hours driving around and getting lost on the backroads trying to find the lake near Mt Hood. After having to stop a few times to let the cycle race past we finally found the right road. Half of the road had been washed away in a flood and was nothing more than a very rough track with huge potholes but we battled on.
On the second night we decided to stay in the town so we could go to the pub and have a couple of drinks. Turned up at the RV park to be greeted by a very weird owner who was more interested in whether I knew any hot single girls in London. Don't worry I didn't give him any names. Anyway all the other people lived there permanently in run down old caravans, only $450 a month. It took about 15 minutes to rouse the man next to us to move his truck, he apologized cheerfully and explained he had been partying all night. The pub was very uneventful, a little smelly and closed at 9. Had a bit of a chat with a heavily pierced guy who liked the way I said Miller.
The next day we had an amazing wood fire oven cooked pizza for lunch and had a look around the fish hatchery, the Sturgeon were incredible.
