Hey everyone.

So I'm here. I arrived at Mombasa at 8:45 this morning (BTW - Kenya is 3 hours ahead)

I got lost finding the person that was supposed to be picking me up. As you step out of the airport there are loads of people offering you a taxi its bloody mental!!!

Anyway I find the guy and we are waiting for another couple of people so I go and have a drink. At 10 this girl called Kirsty arrived, from Southampton, and we went back to this hotel where we are spending the first 2 nights.

Crazy thing no.1: Everyone wants tipping for absolutely everthing

Crazy thing no.2: No road signs or anything...people drive like total absolute f***ing lunatics.

Theres some bad poverty and the place is certainley run down but what else did we expect?

Hotel was OK - It's clean and cheap. I'm now sharing a room with Aaron from Ireland and another guy thats from Leeds called Dave thats like 42 or something daft!

Another Irish girl called Emer who looks 16 but is 22 is here aswell. They are all pretty nice people but we are getting splity up soon to go to different projects etc... and meet the people in our houses.

Bloody boiling. The insects have kept away from me so far, and I have a kenyan SIM card. It's so cheap for me to text home. Its not much for you to text me either.

Everything is really cheap like it was 50 shillings for a SIM card (less than 50p) and 10 shillings for a text (like 6p or something). Food is cheap...but a bit crap.

Anyway I'm going to try and upload some pictures onto this s***ty slow computer now. Text me and leave me messages, cos I'm quite bored ATM.

And its hot. =] Very hot.
