After Wanaka we started making our way to Queenstown, and on the way stopped at a small town called Arrowtown. We got quite excited when we got there as there was a Patogonia choclotes shop and cafe, and it reminded us of being in Bariloche, Argentina... seems so long ago now!!
We got into Queenstown and the follwoing day decided to go Jet boating again, as the weather was much nicer, and we figured it was better doing it in Queenstown anyway as this was the place it originated... like most extreme sports it seems! The tour for the jet boating was really good as before we got to the river we went on the sketchiest road up and through the mountain valleys, and the whole way round it looked like the back of the van was gonna slide off the cliff!! The jet boating itself made the scary journey worth while though, it really was a lot of fun!!
Some of Nicks friends from home were in Queenstown the same time as us which was really cool, and we went out a couple of nights and met more people. It really was just like being back at uni again, the whole atmosphere of the place, it really is as good as people make it out to be, and i think its safe to say for both of us that Queenstown is the best place in New Zealand so far!!
We went ice skating one day, it seemed appropraite as it was cold anyway... Funny incident occurred whilst there also where Natalie, being silly and naive let nick attempt to ice skate through her legs thinking he would make it... Well he didnt!! I'll let you see what happened in the video... Quite funny!!
Before we came to Queenstown everybody seemed to rave about 'Fergburger' and insisted we tried it when we got there, so we felt we had to really... and oh my god, the best burgers weve ever tasted... if this place was made into a chain it would take over the world... Bye bye McDonals and BK!!!
We went to quite a fun indoor crazy golf, so many cool themes associated with New Zealand, and the most important part... I (nat) beat Nick for once... only by one but a win is a win afterall!!!
Whilst we were the Queenstown Winter Festival was on which was pretty funky, we got to see fireworks on the opeing night, a couple of stage shows, and the funniest of them all was when crazy guys wearing stupid costumes were jumping into the lake... bearing in mind it was absolutely freezing outside we hate to think what the water would have been like! On the way out of Queenstown we came across the first ever bungy jump bridge the Kawarau bungy which we watched people throwing themselves off, we did'nt however cus it was a pretty small tame one compared to the one we did in Africa lol!
