After coming back from Samoa we had to jump on a plane the next morning down to the South Island to Christchurch, which was seriously cold 5 DEGREES!! which is super bad after being in 30 Degrees all week!! At least it was sunny!! We picked up our rent a camper van which is sweet, it has a bed a cooker (little one) and all kinds of funky gadgets including a dvd player screen and dvd's!! We drove out of Christchurch up through the Southern Alps to a place called 'Arthurs Pass' which is in the middle of the mountains 1000metres up! It was pretty cold up there too! We checked out this pretty awsome waterfall you will see in the pics and went and played in the forest! We spent a night up there in the camper van and left our milk outside to be cold for the morning but something munched it! we hope it was a kiwi. We drove from there to Greymouth on the west coast to pick up supplies and check it out! The whole area was a gold mining town to we went to this attraction called 'Shantytown' a kinda reconstruction of an 1860's gold rush town! It was pretty cool in there and we both now own some gold we found our selves probably only worth about $10! We then drove down to the next town called Hokitika which was pretty small aswell, we managed to get to the beach for sunset and we have some very very good pics from that! That night we went off into the forest to check out the glow worms in the cave entrance, which was wicked they looked like those illuminous sticky things you put on the celing off your bedroom! The next day we checked out this Kiwi sanctuary, as we are in New Zealand we had to see them!! They are a lot bigger than we thought, the size of a small dog with a huge beak! We did have a picture but Nick accidently deleted it! After this we made the drive down to Glacier country which is where we are now!
Franz Josef and Fox Glacier to come and they are pretty awsome!!
