After a few days in Auckland we thought we would head further south to Lake Taupo!! We decided to camp whilst we were down there, even though it was pretty cold!!! Our plan was to to a sky dive, but on the morning of take off the weather wasnt playing games so we had to find other stuff to do.
We went to Huka falls which was awesome, quite small but the water was really clear and blue which was kinda wierd, it almost didnt look natural! After this we went to craters of the moon which is basically a big field with craters and smoke coming out of them!! When we got out of there the weather seemed to be clearing up so Nick thought he would call the skydiving people just to see if it was possible to do the jump and they said we could... Well this was about the time that i (Nat) lost feeling in my legs cuz i was pretty damn scared!!
So we did the jump.... and it was AMAZING!!!! Such a strange feeling cuz you dont actually feel like your falling cuz the wind is coming against you so strong you feel like your just floating in the sky which is an awesome sensation, then the parachute comes out and everything goes quiet... the most peaceful place in the world!! but we will stop rambling about it and let you check out the photos (please dont laugh too much at my stupid faces (nat) haha)... Enjoy!!!
well after so much fun with jumping out of a plane we did have a bit of drama that at the time was a major crisis when someone broke into our car when we were sleeping in the tent next o it and stole our rucksacks with all our money, passports and expensive stuff in them!! We were not impressed as you can imagine so we ran up to the reception desk in a rage only for them to tell us they had our bags!! They were picked up by some happy campers as the loser who stole them probarly got scared by the cctv cameras and binned them off before he got caught! However he did manage to steal Nicks travellers cheques and dollar bills which sucked but the rest of it was ok fortunatly!! we thought this kinda stuff would only happen in South america but we come to New Zealand where you would expect it to be relatively safe and then it happens!!
Next stop is Rotorua...
