So day one of our tour we had to get up at a tedious time of 5am to jump on the bus!! We stopped at a camel farm to start with but were more excited by the dingoes and kangaroo's than the camels themselves! After a long drive and a qhick swim we got into Uluru & Kata Tjuta National Park. Its quite big and we headed straight to Kata Tjuta, a pretty cool selection of rock formations. We took a 2 1/2 hour walk around them and found out that they are actually more sacred than Uluru itself. In the evening we went to watch the famous sunset against Ayres Rock and watch it change colour as it was setting, quite impressive! Our first night was so good, we all sat around a fire and slept in swags, which are basically larger versions of sleepings bags... So we slept under the stars on our first night!!
Day two of the tour was another early rise as we did the base walk around Uluru at sunrise and then we climbed it!! It was not the easiest climb and was quite scary because your not strapped on and you could easily fall off!! Still getting to the top was impressive as the views were pretty good and you could actually get more of an idea how big the rock actually is. We then drove another 4 hours to a cattle station where we slept on our last night!!
Third and final day we did a walk around Kings Canyon.... its pretty big and is also another sacred site for the local aboriginal communities. Then we had a final 5 hour drive back to the hostel and had a much needed shower!
