After the rush of the sky dive in Taupo we decided to head north still in the 'thermal alley' which is basically an area of the north island that is vocanically active and every where you go there are thermals springs popping up and areas filled with the smell of sulphur which is the first thing we noticed when we got out the car there! It stunk pretty bad and we were'nt suprised looking around and all the crazyness going on!! We pulled up at another random camp site and then decided on recommendation to travel to this place called 'Kerosene Creek' which was a thermal pool of boiling water! However we could'nt find it so i (Nick) went and asked some chick where t was and she would'nt tell me with the fear of the car getting broken into and also catching menangitus from putting our heads under the water! However we convinced her to tell us where another one was called hot and cold creek and low and behold there was a massive danger sign saying DANGER do not put you head in the water!! We went for a little swim in here and it was seriously hot and a bit scary really!!
The following day we went up a massive lookou hill over the lake on a cable car and went on a Sky Swing at the top which was a huge load of fun as it swings you right out over the edge of the hill into the town!! We also went on the Luge cars racing down to the bottom of the hill which was fun until we went on the advanced course and crashed a whole lot! The weather was pretty rubbish until the last day which is when we were travelling back to Auckland!!
Pics are very good when we get a chance to upload them hopefully before we go to Samoa at the weekend!!!
