Surfers Paradise is an impressive, modern beach resort. It is full of holiday apartments and backpacker hostels, but you can understand why. The beach is massive and very impressive. It is so big that they have broken it down into lots of different parts. There is main beach, Broadbeach, Mermaid Bay, Miami and lots of others. Fraser Island is definately a highlight of our trip so far. We were picked up at Rainbow Beach, a small little town, and went on our 4 wheel drive coach to the barge. Possibly the highlight of our trip so far, the Whitsundays and The Great Barrier Reef were fantastic. We decided to do a once in a lifetime helicopter flight out over the islands and landing on the reef. It was so amazing. We took off from Airlie Beach and flew to Hamilton Island where we picked up two other passengers, then off we went. I will always remember Ayr for a few things. 1. ZUCCHINIS!!!! This is where we got a job as zucchini pickers. It was good money, but really hard work.
