Nat and Nik's Adventures
Hi from Cape Trib!!!
Well, the first thing that springs to mind is rain, rain, rain!!! It was a fun journey up, the first in Violet our van! We went across the ferry to the cape which was exciting, but we were very aware of all the signs about crocs!!! We drove to a few view points but to be honest the weather wasnt great so we couldnt see a lot. We drove all the way to Cape Trib, up the windy roads, and found a nice camp site to stay in which was just a short rainforest walk to the beach which was lovely.
After our first meal in the van, jacket potatoes and cheese cooked in our little oven that came with the van, we spent our first night sleeping in it. It was really comfy!!
The next morning we had our lunch on the beach, and then attempted to shell a coconut on the coconut spike in the campsite. Im sorry to say that we failed!!! We then drove to Cape trib beach and had about an hour of sun which was lovely before we got rained out!!
We drove back down, visiting a few of the sites on the way, and went on to Port Douglas.
Cape Trib is a really beautiful place for beaches and for rainforest walks which we really enjoyed, but i would like to go there another time when the weather is better. I would really like to climb one of the mountains there as it would be a great view, but they were all in cloud. Never mind, maybe next time.
