Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up early and feeling refreshed despite the night-time disturbances headed into the city. I ambled through the University area and began to miss my days as a student. Oh no! The world of work is approaching fast! I suppose at the moment technically I'm a Spanish student but yeah it's not quite the same; no student loans, cheap drinks and watching day-time televison with your housemates arguing over who used up all the milk!
I crossed the motorway bridge which slices through the city. I reached the hustle and bustle of the city centre and bought some pens. I walked to the park on the Santa Lucia battlements and had to sign my name, nationality, ID number etc on a register with a park official overseeing to get in. A little bit strange just to enter a public park but I suppose I'm now in South America! I went to get a drink and had to sign back in so I entered my nationality as Bhutanese just for a laugh to see if the official guy would notice but nah he didn't.
I looked over my Spanish and I covered the suggested reading. Later I walked to a local market and bought some fruit and vegetables. I returned to the hostel and made pasta and sauce.
I had my lesson with Jesus and we moved on to the simple future tense. It was good and I feel a bit more able conversation wise with all 3 tenses. I just need to keep adding verbs to my collection. My collection is squares of paper with verbs on them. I use the paper squares to memorise my verbs.
Later I spoke with Ryan (guy that made fish pancakes) and his Chilean girlfriend Daniella. She was really nice and has only just started learning English since she met Ryan. She met him 2 weeks ago. I was impressed by her language skills. We had glasses of wine and listened to Manu Chao.
I went to bed at 1am and tried to get to sleep as the Irish guy was already snoring his head off!
