Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up and ate the rest of my gnocchi. I then sat in the sunny courtyard and studied my Spanish. I walked round to Plaza Brasil and chilled there for a while. The park is full of couples canoodling, I've noticed that walking round the parks here. I suppose it would be like that back home if we had the weather to sit in the parks all day.
One of the Chilean girls who works in the hostel was amazed that I was making gnocchi and so now calls me "Senor Gnocchi"!!
Later I had my lesson with Jesus where we concentrated on the past tense. It's great to move on from simple present: I see, I eat etc I then watched a Spanish film in the lounge before calling it a night!
There was an English guy called Ryan who is living and working in the hostel so he can be close to his Chilean girlfriend. He asked me if I wanted some pancakes as he was making a huge batch. I thought; why not? I've not had pancakes for such a long time. However the last person to use the frying pan hadn't cleaned it and we only realised this when we'd made all the pancakes. Yeah they tasted of salmon, lots of fish flavoured pancakes; lovely! They went into the basura, the hostel dog wouldn't even eat them.
Oh a big Canadian guy moved into my dorm for a night. He nearly broke my bunk as he jumped on it and snapped one of the supports. It's ok for him he's gone tomorrow!!
