The kids are definitely on SA time now and are waking up far too early!! Nick and I stayed in bed and read for a while before getting up for coffee. We had just finished when it began to drizzle so we quickly packed up the beds and made sure nothing got wet. After breakfast we got chatting to more neighbours and although it delayed leaving, we learnt a bit more about places to visit. The trip to Robe seemed long and boring after driving through the Fleurieu Peninsula. The Limestone coast is flat and full of scrub with limited views of the ocean along the way. We stopped in Meningie for lunch where we found a bakery and then ate in the park in front of Lake Albert. We got to Robe just after 3pm and found the Robe Holiday Park, an awesome park in the bush where kids under 12 stay free, costing us just $20 a night! It is owned by a couple with 3 young boys so the kids made instant friends and went off to play on the jumping pillow while Nick and I set up. It's very quiet here and we had our pick of sites. We had a coffee and watched the kids climbing Mulberry trees - they were all purple when they came back and looked like the Violet character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Around 4ish we walked into town along a path that runs up above the beach. It took us about half an hour to reach the town centre but it was a fantastic walk with great views. We decided to have dinner at the Robe Hotel, which was a good choice as the food was very good. I tried Coorong Mullet for the first time and it was very tasty. We walked through the town on the way home and there are some great shops and restaurants plus a little cinema. Nick had to carry Anna most of the way home whereas the boys had sword fights and wrestled the entire way, much to the amusement of passers-by! Once home, everyone had a shower and tried to scrub off the purple with little success, before eventually going to bed. So nice to have a day of no schoolwork!!
