Woke up about 8am after a fantastic sleep - we are all sleeping really well in the van now. The kids went down to play in the rock pools while Nick and I packed up the van and then came back covered in sand and soaking wet with all towels etc packed away!! Decided to involve them all in the pack up so they could see how much needed doing and it worked quite well. Matty in particular loved packing up the hoses and became Nick's shadow for a while. We hit the road about 930am and travelled down to the 'big toe' of the Yorke Peninsula to Marion Bay. It took about 2 hours and the caravan park was virtually empty when we got here. We had our pick of sites but none of them had views of the bay and the kids seemed a bit flat after having such a great spot at Moonta Bay. We set up and then walked along the beach to the jetty and the general store but it was hot and the beach too full of sea weed to swim so the kids dropped their lip and went home to play in the van! Nick and I read for a while with an extra flat white and once it got a bit cooler (around 530pm!) we went to the beach again. It's a shallow beach but at least it is sandy rather then muddy and once you waded out a decent distance became quite cool and refreshing. After a couple of hours we came back to the van and had dinner and the kids went off to the play ground until it got dark. We eventually got them to bed and watched a movie (thanks Gavin) with the bed windows open, letting in a magic breeze.
