Everyone slept in until 8am - it's very quiet here. Sat and enjoyed the breeze outside with a coffee and then began the breakfast marathon. I packed up the car while Nick made endless rounds of cheese on toast and we eventually set off to Innes National Park, the reason for visiting this part of the Peninsula. The first stop was Cape Spencer and a short walk to the lighthouse. The kids were begging for a lolly (they start as soon as we get in the car) and they weren't allowed one until someone had spotted some wildlife. As we walked to the lighthouse we spotted a couple of pods of dolphins in the bay below so they started walking with a lot more enthusiasm! As we entered the National Park we noticed signs stating that emus were breeding and to watch out for them on the road. Annie was thrilled to spot a few of them at the side of the road. We also saw a small black snake crossing the road and so multiple lollies all round! We stopped at West Cape and were going to have a walk along Ethel Beach but there were bees everywhere and the kids refused, running back to the car. Pondalowie Bay, known for it's surf, was calm but beautiful and you had to climb down a number of steps to get there which no one wanted to do as by now it was really hot - 38 degrees. Instead we drove on to Dolphin Bay, a lovely little swimming beach with deep cold water - the first we've seen in a while! After a couple of hours we headed home, all too hot for lunch. We put the air con on and stripped down to undies trying to cool off - amazing, even the kids wanted quiet time! After a late lunch I had a siesta for half an hour (love this life style) and was woken up as everyone was hungry again. Some watermelon and a flat flat white later and the breeze had come in at last (530pm!) and we were ready for another swim. Nick stayed on the beach with the kids until about 8pm while I went home and got dinner ready. Sat outside and enjoyed the breeze afterwards with a book, then bed and another movie - I think we are still on WA time!

Grandma Sounds as though the fun continues for you all. Have lessons started yet? Mulli's leg is at last on the mend. Sees the consultant on Saturday so hope we can take the wheelchair back. I'm sick of it and yesterday encouraged him to vacuum!!! Looked a bit tragic but after two hours the house was pretty clean. We will ring you whilst you are in Adelaide. When are you leaving? The Adelaide markets are fabulous if you want to stock up on food. Love to you all. Peta, Mum and Grandma
