Day 18th; 37 km's from Leon to Hospital De Orbigo not a bad effort after a easy day yesterday. Walked with Tracy & Colleen out of Leon, past the old city, Parador Hotel, suburbs and industrial area, had breakfast in cafe at Vargendel Camino where Douglas and Andrew caught up with us. Walked in lovely brush with wildflowers. Left the others at Mazarife because there was a party happening in town.
We decided to walk on a bit further, as nice cloudy day and a chance of rain tomorrow.
A day for old 13th century Roman bridges and more churches. Reached Hospital de Orbigo and choose to stay at San Miguel Alberque, and very nice it is, tranquil with pleasant back ground music playing. Enjoyed a couple of wines at a local bar even after Gael told someone she was going to have a a alcohol free day. Able to cook own meal, brought some pasta but ended up having soup a nice change after pilgrim meals. Enjoying the relaxed atmosphere Getting colder as we head up into the mountain, just hope we have enough warm clothes .
El Camino:
It is a way you follow and a way you get to go but it is not what you receive on the Camino that decides the passage of time, it is what you give, and in the giving you receive the great gift of the Camino.
