Moving day again, drove through Piesport, (shall go there next time, looked stunning and everything you need for a prolonged stay). Onwards to Mehring then Trier, the oldest city in Germany. Having checked out a couple of sites we moved on ending up in France.

Moved on through Urzig and Bernkastel Kues, again beautiful places but very touristy. We had 2 or 3 places in mind to stay and as we were checking them out we found Weingut stellplatz Georgshof a small campsite a short walk from the river and vineyards. It had all the amenities of a larger camp and as the sun was shining t allowed us to do our laundry. Following the Moselweinstrasse we visited Zell which was very nice but a little too touristy for our liking. Drove on and as luck would have it we found a great little Stellplatz in Punderich at only €8/night incl electric and water. A chap came round in the evening to collect the fees so we booked in for a couple of days. Nice village with a bakery which was open! Lovely afternoon spent walking by the river. Drove north along the Rhine valley to Boppard again, then cut west across to Brodenbach and followed the river Mosel to Bremm via Treis Karden and Cochem. Absolute downpours through Cochem, traffic stopped as windscreen wipers couldn't cope. Overnight at Weingut stellplatz Oester Franzen (or Esther Ranson as we called it). Back with our good friends Bob & Birgitt to say auf wiedersehen before the final leg of our travels. Spent the day having a walk through the forest, followed by Aperol at cafe Raab then dinner at the sports bar. Steak and chips... get in. The following morning Birgitt laid on a sumptuous breakfast then we walked to the turm in Gonsenheim for a drink.
