Arrived last night at a small Weingut Stellplatz called Helmut Schreoder, only 10 spaces and again very reasonable about €12/night incl electric and showers. The town, again very picturesque and it's their weinfest, we keep finding them! Walked to Maikhammer in the afternoon, it's really hot at the moment (32ish). Got caught in a shower, so nice as it cooled everything down. As the van was cool we decided to leave Bella there and walk up the hill to the weinfest... A long slog, all uphill but worth every step. There was food in abundance and a good selection of local wines. I had Soumagen for the first time and Lesley played safe with a Bratwurst. Everyone was dancing and singing to German songs in between cheesy songs from the 60's, 70's, & 80's. The popular tune of the evening was a mystery to us but the chorus line had dum dum in it (the only words we could decipher) it seemed to make everyone happy so we sang along when we could. On the walk home back we met a couple from Australia who were doing a tour of Germany as both had German parents.
