Parked as we were we didn't need to close the front curtains so we wake to a lovely sunrise and watch rabbits running about. We also see a couple of green woodpeckers and various finches, plus of course the beautiful deer.
Today we have a 150 mile drive but a good bit of it is either dead straight main roads [wake me up when you see a corner coming] and dual carriageway past Orleans, Le Mans and Rennes.
At 16:00 we cross the canal du Rance, turn in by the lock house and reach the aire at Tinteniac only to find it is full. Nick and Grete drive up to the nearby car park while we wait on the service point. Soon one space is vacated and we move in quickly and find that the couple in the adjacent van are from Truro. They offer to shunt sideways a bit so we call N+G down and shuffle about to fit three vans in snugly.
It's a sunny evening so Ali and Grete walk along the canal while the drivers rest with an aperitif.
As it will be our last night together this trip Grete does a 'farewell' supper; salmon starter and ravioli main with cheese and cauliflower. Wine is plentiful and we have some of the chocolates we bought in Cuneo for dessert. We play some music and have quite a late night.
