What a marvelous day!!!! We are totally loving it here and anyone thinking about coming up to queensland should pop over here for a few nights, its beautiful!!!
After breakfast we headed off in the car to find some bait to do some fishing. Whilst driving there we stopped at some more ship wrecks on the beach and had a walk around and took done pics. They are really fascinating to explore and still can't get over how nature ages these old ships, absolutely stunning!! After this we made our way to Bulwar corner store and got some bait and also a sand board (which is only a long piece of ply) to use on the sand dunes in the next few days. We then headed back to camp and got our fishing gear and did some surf fishing. No luck at catching anything but the girls still loved it!
After some unsuccessful fishing and lunch we got geared up in the bathers and headed off to "the wrecks" at Tangalooma to do some snorkelling. It was a bit fresh in the water so Marty and Boo went out first. Boo was a natural, totally marveled at how well she did it and she loved it. I finally warmed up and went in. Can't believe this was the first time l had ever snorkelled!! I loved it!! Even though l didn't see much fish or anything, it was awesome. Have decided to never hold back on trying new things in life ever again!!! Tried to swim out to the ship wrecks but the girls kept wanting us, will try again before leaving.
After a few hours on the beach and having an afternoon snack of doritos and strawberries we piled onto the car for our next conquest.
We set off to climb Mount Tempest, which is the highest coastal sandhill in the world!!! We got there, took the thongs off and headed up. Got to the direction sign which stated 2km return walk, moderate to steep. Marty not so keen due to him having to carry Meg all the way but we proceeded on anyway. Half way up the sandy track Boo needed a rest and from then on it seemed every 5 mins she wanted to rest! Took around 30-40mins of pretty steep walking to get to the top and WOW what a view. We could see the whole island, over to Port Brisbane and also to Bribie Island. It was magnificent and felt like we were on top of the world! Boo is going to be one fit girl by the end of this adventure, she did so well and no tears!! The island is having some burnoffs at the moment so it was cool to see that from up high too. After a bit of gazing we headed off down, Marty stayed up for a little bit, wondered why then later found out took a whiz up there. Lol...
Got back to camp around 5:15pm at high tide and watched another glorious sunset on the beach. Finished day off with a quick spag bol and retired for the night.
Weather has been great, around temps of 20-22oC with slight breeze, however does cool down quick at night. Has been fun so far camping. Think mixing it up with the tent has made it a little exciting for the girls.
Overall, still having an awesome adventure and loving every minute of this opportunity. Spending this time with each other has been great, loving life!!!
