Today was a lazy day sitting around camp. Everyone was still pretty tired from the previous days disaster! Plus it was Kerry's bday so we all tried to make it special for her.
We did a few catch up chores and checking over the cars. The kids were happy to play in the sand and make mud pies.
For Kerry's b'day, Angie, Melissa and l made onion, bacon and potato omletes for everyone. When l say everyone, l think we made at least a dozen bloody omletes!!! They were awesome, delicious. Again, another thing Angie has taught me!
After breaky a few of us started to feel a bit upset in the tummy, not related to the omletes!! A few, including me, had the runs but by lunch we started to feel better. So we opened the wine and cracked the beers. A few of us sat around playing rumicub and Marty took the girls for a swim in the shallow water of the ocean, keeping eyes open all the time for any shadows moving in the water.
We all made plans for Kerry's b'day, deciding on having a food fest for tea. Everyone was to bring a dish. I couldn't believe how everything worked well together. I made honey soy chicken wings, Angie did tuna sushi, Dale did some yum cha in their oven, Melissa did a cobble loaf even making the bread, Mick even did a rice salad and the Germans did their famous flat bread with garlic sauce. We had made a feast for kings!!! Angie also whipped up her sticky date pudding for the cake (Kerry's request). Angie donated a patch quilted table runner she had made for her pressie and everyone signed it. Kerry loved it and think she was very humbled. We all tried to make it a special day, Dale even put up streamers and balloons around the trees. I think for one day the loss of the cruiser was forgotten.
After tea we got the kids to bed and had a drink session. The Germans played guitar for us, playing our favorite tunes. He does a great Johnny Cash and their originals are brilliant.
After half a cask of wine l called it a night hoping not to pay for it tomorrow!!! Marty had form too, great that he is letting his hair down....
