Well as you can see we did a bit of fishing today!!!
We hung around the caravan park and caught up on Boo's school until lunchtime. Then after lunch we headed down to the beach with our sand worms to do some fishing. I had my doubts after our attempts in Noosa, but no sooner had Marty cast out that he had a small whiting on the end reeling it in. He was so stoked to have caught a fish so quick and it lifted all our spirits that we might catch something. Next minute Meg started reeling her fishing line in saying "l got one mum", l just nodded and let her go. Next thing l know l look around to see a fish on the end of her rod, she was so excited and l was in shock. Couldn't believe she wound it in herself, her first ever fish caught!!! I then felt a bite and caught a little whiting. Boo was getting upset because we had all got one, but after 20 minutes or so she caught a whiting too. At the end of the few hours the count ended: Bell 5, Marty 4, Meg 2, and Boo 1. Out of the 12 we could have kept 3 we reckon, the rest were too small. It was a great arvo, the sun was shining and the fish were biting!
Finished the arvo off with an ice-cream, got to live waffle cones!
It is so nice to be back in the caravan and the park, although a bit old, is neat with lots of birdlife and friendly people around. Lovely old couple next to us, John and Joan, are great. Have been having a chat to them about Cape York and they have been kind to the girls giving them a few little things.
We are all looking forward to tomorrow as have booked in with Tasman Ventures to go whale watching. Hoping it will be awesome experience for us all.
Bell Xx
