What a busy day.I was hoping to get up early, but ended up sleeping in as the Jet lag has still not worn off especially since I was out late last night dancing and carrying on.
I am definitely being spoiled here with my family.A simple breakfast was ready when I woke and we sit at the table each meal.I think they are secretly trying to drown me though with tea and not the cold stuff.I have had more tea in the past two days then I think I have had in 2 months. What is funny though is I truly am enjoying it and think wherever I am tea will become a staple.I am N.Irish/S.African/English afterall and that is what we do!
We were off right after breakfast for a whirlwind tour of the peninsula just south and east of Belfast. What a treat to drive all the way down the lock and then up the coast of the Irish sea.I do seem to gravitate towards the water wherever I am.I will let the pictures and captions recount the story of my day.
Some things that really stood out for me today were the field patchwork, cows and sheep. All the movies do an incredible job of showing this part of the world. The boats and harbors are very unusual compared to what I am used to, but very interesting.
I am looking forward to seeing this week some of my mother's child hood haunts and poke about the city of Belfast a little more and of course the hunt for my new mode of transportation.I have a feeling that is going to be a huge task!
I still have had not luck finding an internet connection and I attempted to log onto my family's computer but I think Fred Flinstone was off tonight and his brother was turning the cogs…holy cow their computer is slow and the dial up connection didn't make it any better.Just opening my email box took 10 minutes so I gave up…I will hopefully find a café or hotel with wireless the beginning of the week.
Well another fun evening spent out on the town.Trivia is just as much fun here as it is at home!
