I have never seen so many horse drawn carts before. They are everywhere and even have their own roads in some cases next to the main road. Most of the time they block the main road though. I saw so many filled with people, straw, logs and bundles of sticks. Definitley the highlight of Romania.

Medevil town with some character. Moving north from Brasov the country side did become a little more appealing, but still not much.

Brasov was described in my one and only guide book as "Romania's favorite city". I think I would add Romania's only worthwhile city to visit. The old center has alot of character and feels like a mountain town. It still does not compare to other qauint cities seen throughout Europe, but for Romanian standards this is the gem. I am glad I pushed on from Bucharest to lay my head here for the night, but Romania to this point has simply been a box to ch...

Small little mountain town that has a little character, and alot of filth. I guess looking on the positive side the roads are better than Albania and they had the snow cleared from the road which was helpful.

Not even worth sleeping in this town! Some have said that Bucharest is the Paris of the east. I think it depends on your perspective. If you are from the east, it is big time, but if you are from anywhere else this place has tractors downtown. Need I say more. The communist era apartment blocks seem to dominate the skyline. Bucharest replaces Madrid officially at the bottom of the list of favorite major cities.
