Hoping a good nights sleep would have knocked this lurgy on its butt, no such luck. Oh well, we are heading off from Vegas today to meander our way back to LA. We always prop for a couple of days at Primm (about 60km from Vegas on the California border) as it is relatively low cost accommodation and attached premium outlets and casinos. Decided to do a day trip before booking into Primm. We headed out to Valley of Fire State Park. Really colourful and interesting rock formations, there is also petrified logs and petroglyths about 4000 years old. It was too bloody hot to do any hiking (45C or 113F) so we decided to head back to Primm via Vegas. Heading back in we pass the Vegas Speedway and the Exotics racetrack and can see both the Gallardo and Aston Martin on the track. Arrived a Primm about 4.30pm and it was still 42C, first room allocated was as far as you could get from reception. They also told us there was no lifts at that end and we would have to walk from reception. Well b***** me we trudge all the way there with all of our luggage (they didn't have a trolley) only to find a car park and lift next to our room. Open the room and the temp in the room is 32C, the air conditioner does not work. Karen rings and complains, she has to trudge back to reception to grab another key for a spare room a few doors down, comes back 15 minutes later and the keys don't work, off she goes again. Comes back 25 minutes later and we are finally in a room where the air conditioner works. Karen sneaks off to the shops while I take another round of drugs to kill this lurgy. We end up having dinner at the local casino steakhouse. It was quite reasonable with and australian bottle of shiraz thrown in. Time to see if another sleep with murder this bloody cold
