Still on a high from the drive yesterday I really had no plans for today except catch up with some friends who happen to be in Vegas at the same time. Before the drive yesterday I started to feel a bit off colour like a head cold was coming on, well its here now with a vengeance. This sucks, there should be a law against getting crook on holidays. Off to Walmart to stock up on snot prevention medicine (yes Walmart has a chemist section as well). Bombed up on snot drugs I am starting to feel OK. Had a wander around Walmart and grabbed some shorts for $14. Headed back to the Hotel and arranged to meet Eddie and Yvonne Dolman at Gordon Ramsays Pub and Grill at Caesars Palace. We imagined as it was a pub it would be based on an english pub. The only bloody thing english about it was the name. Unless your eating you have to sit at the bar, no bar snacks, blah blah. Prior to this year I hadn't seen Eddie and Yvonne for about 15 years. We originally met when I first joined the army and was doing my training at Cabarlah. Caught up with them this year at the Cabarlah reunion and again here in Vegas. Was great catching up, shame it was only for a few hours but with this lurgy I couldn't really kick on. We parted at Bellagio's, they headed back towards their hotel and we to ours. Had a bit of a rest then decided to grab a feed. A few people have told me about the ribs at Ellis Island Casino (Ellis Island Casino is about 1km off the strip heading to the more decrepit side of town). We thought we would give this a go, although I was a bit dubious, the sign out the front - Ribs $13.99 seemed to spell rough and ready. This couldn't be further from the truth. These are now the best ribs I have had this trip and cheap too. Meal completed, hopefully a good sleep will knock this lurgy off (yeh right)
