Day 28
Was planning on a lie-in but the sun heating up the van woke me (louise) up. I made coffee and we prepared for a day at the International Antarctic Centre. After a shower and tidy up... Shorts on!!! We proceeded to unhook Bruce and ride to our adventure. We paid our entry minus the 10$ discount voucher we had and was immersed into Antarctic snow blizzards and storms, withstanding -18 in the storm room and facts about the history of exploration with Scott and present day info on Antarctica explorations. We also got a ride in the hagglund (the vehicle they use in Antarctica, the British army also used them in when in Iraq!) the 4D cinema show was ok... It showed footage of the area and wildlife, with a few squirts of water and chair shaking put in for good measure! We also got to see our favorite Little Blue Penguins enjoying a splash around in an enclosure. From here we headed to New Brighton Beech just to have a wander before heading back to do the packing ready to leave amazing New Zealand tomorrow :((
