Day 27 - 28 We travelled on the 24th April and arrived mid-afternoon, to more rain. We arrived at Uranga station an hour late due a power failure, but the hostel had arranged to meet us and thankfully hadn't left without us. So we had a chilled out evening. Day 24 - 26 The heavens had not closed for 3 days. It was the worst floods that had been seen for years. Port Macquarie was well known for its beautiful beaches, but we didn't really get to see them. Day 23 We moved from the campsite to a hostel before heading to the beach, to catch some rays. Mid-afternoon the sky went dark so we decided to head to the Koala Hospital to watch the sick and injured koalas recieving their 3pm feed. On our way there the heavens opened and we got soaked. Day 22 We left Newcastle today for Port Macquarie. Our train wasn't until 2 so we headed down to Nobby's Beach to have a walk up to the lighthouse. They were having the finals of the New South Wales Body Boarding competition, so we stopped and watched this for a while. Day 21 We decided to go to Port Stephens, specifically Nelsons Bay as it is popular for spotting whales and dolphins. Unfortunately we did not see any so decided to explore more beaches instead. We had lunch at Nelsons Bay, then walked across Little Beach. We then arrived at the Tea Rooms which is a popular look out spot. We then walked across Shoal Beach, which was 2 miles of pure beauty.
