Day 33
Lennox Head is rated as one of the top 10 surfing spots in Australia, so we hit the beach with the Body Boards. The waves were the biggest we'd seen, which was apparent as Lorna grazed her knee and Al grazed his back, as waves took us out. After a couple of hours we headed back to the hostel to meet Graeme who had agreed to give us a free windsurfing lesson on Lake Aintree.
The water in Lake Aintree was the same colour as tea. This is due to the tea tree sap coming off the trees. Al went first on the windsurf while Lorna paddled behind on a canoe. Graeme was shouting instructions from the shore, and guided Al to the middle of the lake and back. It was then Lornas turn but Graeme decided that Lorna had learnt passively from Als lesson and left whilst in the middle of the lake. This later turned into a disaster as we ended up at the other end of the lake with no idea how to get back upstream due to the current. Apparantly this was lesson 2 which we didn't have. After Al towed Lorna out of the reeds, Al hopped onto the Windsurf and Lorna paddled. Only for Al to end up back in the reeds and in need of a tow. After Al hogged it for a couple of hours and finally got the hang of it, Lorna was cold and didn't have chance to have another go so we went back.
After a food shop we decided to by some shorts and boardies as our bottoms kept on coming down when we body boarded. We were looking forward to our dinner as Lorna was introducing Al to pumpkin for the first time. As Lorna was cutting the pumpkin she sliced through her finger, and it was bleeding everywhere. Because there was so much blood we couldn't see how bad the cut was. So we used the First Aid Kit to bandage it up and went to bed after dinner. Al thought the pumpkin was nice, but not worth the trouble that was to follow...
