Day 30 - 32
On the first day in Coffs Harbour we sunbathed all day on Main Beach. We watched the Lifesavers Training and we were impressed at how fit they had to be. At least if we start drowning we know we are safe. We did our food shop in the evening and got a bargain on some beef mince that was on it's last day of sale; we got 500g for $1.70 from $8.50. We had a massive SpagBol for dinner, and a bottle of red wine, mmm!
The next day Lorna had decided that her worn flipflops had had it so she had to have Havaianas. So we went round every shop to find some, Al thought it was like being back home on a shoe shop. We then visited the famous Big Banana. We walked for 2 1/2 hour round trip for 1 photo. Really worth it! We tried our first bit of Goon in the evening from the Canadian lads we've met. Goon is a cheap alcoholic wine alternative, and one of the key ingredients is fish heads. Although it tastes like Lambrini. You can buy 4l for $20 - bargain!
In the morning we chilled out on the beach and then went into the shopping centre to warm up. We then rushed back to pick up our bags to go to the train station, only to find out that our train was delayed by an hour and 45 minutes. We eventually made it to Lennox Head at 2130. We were met by the Hostel Manager Graeme.
