Ciao Amico! Today was a very good day :) This morning I had a wonderful american-style bagel and cream cheese from this american bakery I found, and after "piddling around" I went to class - class being the San Lorenzo and Medici Chapels! I have been looking forward to seeint these for a while, and I was not disappointed. In addition to listening to my teacher, I also brought along a book I purchased that is the ultimate guide to Florence - it has everything you could ever want to know, so while we had free time to walk around I could read the book and know what I was looking at. Unfortunately I wasnt allowed to take any pics - which again, is disappointing but understandable. After San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapels, we were done with class - two of the girls and I decided to go to the Greta Garbo exhibit at the Farragamo shoe museum / store. Simply put - I loved it! They had tons and tons of her actual dresses, outfits, etc and of course shoes. There were also tons of amazing photographs of Farragamo and all the famous people he was making shoes for (Audrey Hephburn, Lauren Bacall, Sophia Loren, etc etc etc!) It was really fun, and it definitely made me want to go home and put in a good black and white movie - so I guess thats one of the first things I'll have to do when I get home :)

Later after cleaning and doing laundry (I am apparently the only one who knows how to use a broom, mop or clean counters and toilets in our apartment) my roommate/friend Meredith and I decided we wanted to do our homework outside, so we trekked around for a outdoors cafe with wifi. We didnt have any luck, and after a few hours and a bruised shoulder or two from carrying the laptop around (but in my new leather laptop bag!) we came back, and here I am! Studying / writing my journal! Tomorrow we may try to find one somewhere else - its just no fun being inside when beautiful Florence is right outside my window.
