What a pleasant surprise Farina Historic Ruins turned out to be. With a big campground, flushing toilets and showers, we were amazed at the architecture and the serenity of it all. We had to light 'the donkey hot water' with wood to have our showers - which was a first for some of us. Hitting the road again, we followed the road to nowhere alongside the Flinders Ranges. The colour of the ranges changed along with the time of day and provided a scenic background to our travels. We decided to camp at the Farina Historic Ruins approximately 50km past Leigh Creek. Upon arriving in Farina late afternoon, this was the sign to our camp. Camping symbol and historic cemetery??!! Pleased to say the cemetery was further on.

Hamish, our travel mascot, visited Terowie where an avid sculptor has turned his scrap metal into an exhibit worth seeing. There were quite a few objects of interest! Upon reaching Peterborough for lunch, Hamish had to have a photo taken with a model locomotive. Peterborough is an old railway town steeped in history and old buildings.

Saying goodbye to Morgan this morning, we had to pack up in misty rain which miraculously stopped the minute we finished packing. After looking for Samuel who had disappeared in the surrounding bush, we crossed the mighty Murray River by ferry which was a novelty and first time for Thomas and Samuel.

After a long day driving we pulled up stumps for the night at Morgan. Morgan is situated on the mighty Murray River and we will use the ferry to cross over. There is a magnificent old wharf similar to the one in Echuca however has not been restored or in use.
