We only had time for breakfast on the terrace before wandering down the road to catch the aerobus. While we waited we watched the world go by, the assortment of minibuses taking tourists on walks and tours and the local buses taking people to work., we also spotted the English couple out for a morning run, they were here for another 3 weeks!

The homeward journey was all fine although we did manage to sit in front of the one obnoxious person on the flight whose stupid banter throughout the journey was a bit tiring. We had left a cloudy Madeira and returned to a sunny England which was a nice surprise. The frustrations of the M25 and Oxford traffic hold ups welcomed us back home.

Madeira was a pleasant island ,with some spectacular scenery and we could understand why people escape our winter to enjoy an easy going, sunny island. I don't think we will go every year like lots of Brits do, but we will probably visit again some time as there was lots we did not see .
