Left an empty Monteriggioni after a good breakfast and headed to Siena. For some reason we both were not really up for the walk today. Weather was a flat light and that did not help. There was nowhere to stop for a coffee and we were pleased to arrive at our hotel which on the Via Francigena.
It’s a modernish 3 star but nice to have a change from old buildings and powerful WI-FI!
Friendly staff sent us to deli style restaurant just in old town 5 mins walk away. It was fab with lots of hams hanging up and we a mix of starters then tagliatelle with wild boar sauce
Had siesta after lunch then major clothes wash commenced. Out at 9pm for Aperol Spritz which we now both enjoy and watched Juve vs Real.
