We left Montefiascone as soon a we could and were expecting rain all day. Luckily it held off until last 30 mins and we had a good walk on flat paths. Left Bolsena after a great 2 days and headed to Mounting Fiasco or Montefiascone as it is better known. The walk was lovely following the lake on a high route. Sadly no sun but thankfully no rain. We arrived at Hotel Italia which was always going to be a letdown after the Ves Conte. And omg it was a s*** hole which was up for sale. The town was grey and unfriendly with no bars or cafes open. 1st half of walk out from Radicofani was lovely in light rain but the fun was about to stop. We made major error in not waiting for a bus at a nice car and started walked along a busy road. Day off and we are both really knackered. Had good lunch of grits mista and veal saltimbocca. Then avg pizza in the evening. The lake is volcanic and incredible. The old town interesting but the highlight is the Ves Conte palace which probably one if the most extraordinary places we have have ever slept in.

We had a fab walk on Manuelas advice across a high ridge with amazing views. We ended up at a bar after 17 kms and waited for a taxi to take us up the hill to Radicofani. The village is great on top of a very high hill and we are staying at a lovely apartment which has all that you need. We ate in a cheapy village restaurant called la grotta which was ok.
