Day 9! We walked around more of the historic quarter today, and got $5 Philly tshirts printed in this cute wee shop! We looked up the best place in the city for a cheesesteak and headed the for lunch, because we couldn't leave Philly without one. We went to Jim's Steaks, and it was so tasty! It was a crusty roll with provolone cheese and thin sliced steak, and onions. So yummy! We then walked for miles in the crazy heat and humidity, through Love Park (where the cover photo was taken) and up Benjamin Franklin Boulevard to see the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the famous Rocky steps. We ran up and down them (of course) which was no mean feat in today's heat! Looking very sweaty in all the pictures we got unfortunately... We got the bus back into the city centre because we were exhausted from walking miles and miles, and stopped in Reading Terminal Market again for an ice cream. I got a vanilla fudge waffle cone from Bassets which was amazing. We came back to the house after that, narrowly missing another thunderstorm! Hopefully there won't be any more flash flood warnings appearing on my phone... Because the weather was a bit rubbish we just went to a pizza place round the corner and got some takeaway pizza, mozzarella sticks and salad and sat in chatting all night, which was good fun! We'll be busy again in DC for a few nights so was good to have a couple of quiet nights in Philly. L x
