hello!
Just back from a very busy day. we signed up for a day tour that took us various places on the outskirts of bangkok. we got picked up from the hotel at 7.15am, and first went to the floating markets, which were very interesting. it was hard to buy anything as you were constantly moving, but was really cool. next stop was a choice between an elephant ride or a snake show, and as we are doing an elephant trek up north later in the month, we decided with the snake show. this included men catching poisonous snakes in their mouths, watching a cobra fight a mongoose (the snake was removed before anything died, but i think the mongoose was winning! it was a bit cruel ). Next we went to 'Death Bridge' over the River Kwai, which is a famous WW2 site. It is a railway track, which you can walk across to the other side, and capture some nice views down the river. The afternoon was rounded up with a quick lunch, and a visit to a tiger temple. This was great, we got some close shots of us petting and walking the tigers!
We are off to grab some dinner now, probably some more noodles! Then take another stroll along the night market. We are becoming experts in haggling now, and have grabbed some great bargains.
Speak soon,
Lauren and Ally
P.S next time we will try upload up some photos
