This morning I phoned Amanda and spoke to her for the first time since we left. It was really good to catch up! We left Mary's late morning and headed to Miramar on the other side of Wellington, to the Weta Cave. The Weta Workshop is famous for film production and they've made props etc for lots of films including the LOTR trilogy and Avatar. We watched a DVD presentation on what goes on in all the different departments which was very interesting. They also had a mini museum and a shop which we looked around before we left.
We then drove back to Upper Hutt where we decided to go for lunch. We found a bakers where we got sandwiches, drinks and cakes for $16 - bargain! We had a wander through the city and bought some books in a second hand book shop.
We went back to Mary's and spent some time sorting photos and updating the blog. Tea was Shepherd's Pie in front of the TV with Tui beer! We watched an old English TV drama comedy called 'Cheers and Tears' with Scott and Mary then I called home to talk to Mam, Dad and Dawn before we went to bed.
