When we woke up today we found a note from Mary (who had gone to Tai Chi!) saying her daughter Fiona had invited us to her house for tea, and we could drive there as it was on our way back from Wellington. So we text Fiona to accept, and set out for Wellington again. On the way, we stopped and booked to stay at the Motorhome site on the waterfront for Friday night, even though it was really expensive - we wanted to be near the action on Friday night - the opening night of the Rugby World Cup!
We parked next to Te Papa museum again and went into the museum, which is free! We paid for tickets to go on the 'High Ride' simulator (and the guy charged us student prices!) which was really good - it went through 17 NZ experiences, such as bungy jumping and hearding sheep! We then looked at some of the excellent exhibitions before heading into town to the Hogs Breath Cafe for dinner, using another voucher from the guide book.
We spent the afternoon back at the museum before driving to Fiona's house for 4:30. There we met Fiona's son Tim, who was very nice and friendly. Before dinner, Fiona took us on a walk with the 3 dogs and Molly the baby goat! Mary joined us for dinner which was delicious (again!). We could get used to this home cooking!
